Pick where analysis runs. Claude (local) uses the claude CLI on this machine and needs no key, which is the high-quality default for local use. The API options need a key, sent over HTTPS, held in memory for the request only, never written to disk.
WriteArena is open to everyone. This is the owner's account, and it unlocks two things: the Claude (local) provider, which runs on the host's own subscription, and the owner's stored work (History, saved sessions, Desk essays). Everything else works signed out with your own API key.
